I started working with Nicole because I wanted an opportunity to explore attachment theory and practicality following a relationship break-up. What surprised me most about our experience together is Nicole’s ability to relate her own experiences and place my situation in context. Also, she has provided a bevy of third-party reading and studies so supplement our 1:1 work. Initially, what I was hoping to achieve was to work past the trauma of a break-up and immerse myself in attachment theory and better understand my role in the relationship. So far, I have achieved a much better sense of my own attachment style and how that may work (or, not) with individuals that I am dating. The biggest takeaway I’ve had from this experience is: Change is hard work. Staying the same is hard. Pick your hard.

I started working with Nicole because COVID quarantine and the ensuing school year were very tough on me mentally. I felt like I had nothing and no one to talk to about certain things and she gave me a tremendous outlet that has been more successful than I ever could've hoped for. Making the decision to start talking to someone was a tough one but it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. What surprised me most about the experience was how easy Nicole was to talk to. I thought it'd be really difficult to open up and have uncomfortable conversations but she has a way of making me feel like she’s just another one of my friends rather than a superior or someone I should be afraid of.
